VELVET is a project by the artist Bridge which explores a journey through her changing relationship with herself and her world after the transformative experience of birth and motherhood.

The project touches on topics such as the longing for those quiet moments that seem like a distant memory in early parenthood - and the beauty of reestablishing a deep connection with a loved one.

While the ultimate goal for Bridge was to find her voice after feeling it had been silenced to new responsibilities, her hope is that others can relate to it and feel a sense of community through her words, knowing that they’re not alone.

VELVET is a 6-song musical project, featuring production by ALYH ABOVE, WAYV WILSON and Bridge herself. It was formed between 2024 and 2025, during weekly-ish, cozy home recording sessions that often served as breaks for the artist after long days of working and parenting. Nn this way, the themes of the project were thoroughly imbued in the creative process itself.

“I had the privilege of being a part of a metamorphosis for Bridge, and being trusted as a guide, ideator, and a creative support while VELVET came to life before us.” - ALYH ABOVE
